Background & Mission

With a strong foundation in health education and program development, I hold a Master of Science in Health Promotion Management from American University. I am also a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) with expertise in public health research, community wellness, and health coaching. Fluent in Amharic, I strive to break language barriers in health education, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.

I aim to educate and empower individuals to make sustainable lifestyle changes through evidence-based practices and compassionate support. Whether through program management, coaching, or research, I am committed to fostering healthier communities.

Bio

Amenti Temesgen Bekere was born in Ethiopia and moved to the United States at the age of 12. As the eldest of three daughters and a proud first-generation college graduate, she earned her Master of Science in Health Promotion Management from American University. As a Certified Health Education Specialist and community Health worker, she is passionate about educating and empowering others to take charge of their health and well-being. She currently works as a WIC Nutritionist Assistant, supporting mothers and families in making informed, healthy lifestyle choices. She is also a lifestyle coach, helping prediabetic clients prevent Type 2 diabetes through personalized, sustainable behavior changes. Outside of her professional work, Amenti is involved in her community. She is a mentor and board member of Egna Le Egna, a nonprofit that helps Ethiopian and Eritrean high school students through mentorship. She also serves in youth ministry at her church. With a heart for helping others to live life to the fullest in all aspects Amenti aspires to lead an intentional life and help others do the same. She believes in the power of small daily habits to create lasting changes. Her faith is the foundation of everything she does, and she finds strength, purpose, and joy in her walk with the Lord. She treasures quality time with her family, her sisters, who are also her best friends, and her close friends. She enjoys flowers, springtime, sunshine, journaling, photography, cooking, baking, deep conversations, and a good cup of coffee
